Beard-iquette

Since I'm presently working in an environment where I can get away with the hobo look for a bit, I'm attempting to grow a playoff beard this year for the first time. I've been giving it a dry run, starting from when the Bruins clinched a playoff berth. I understand that convention states I should clear-cut after the last regular season game.

My questions to the SCoC folks are: is it a faux pas to just keep growing and is it imperative I re-shave upon the start of playoffs? Am I going to derail our chances if I keep my head start?

And how do you view the tradition of fan facial foliage? Lame? A noble contribution to the cause?

I'll take my answers off the air...
