Bruins by the Numbers
I recall Yahoo or one of the major websites a while back having a little article on Jersey numbers and who was the best players to dawn said numbers, of course there are 101 different numbers a player could chose from if you count 00, 0 as different and not every number has been worn by a Bruin in our long history so there will be some gaps but any way, let's discuss and some how manage to put together a list of Bruins by the numbers
Many FanPosts are written by readers and do not necessarily reflect the views of Stanley Cup of Chowder, SB Nation, their sponsors, or business partners.

I think Krejci has 46 pretty soundly, unless you think Ted Donato’s 1992 year was really that good

#6 - the whore of all Bruins numbers.
Alexei Kasatonov
Joe Thornton
Dennis Wideman
Gord Kluzak
Bronco Horvath
Ted Green
Dan McGillis
Gord Murphy
Dennis O’Brien
Brad Stuart
Dick Redmond
Nick Beverley
Buddy Boone

It’s kind of embarrassing, you know? 6 has to hang around with a goalie all the time at single-digit parties. All the retired numbers probably make fun of them.

We actually discussed this, didn’t we?
He was unfortunately an anti-Bruinite, but not a nasty one – he was fun to go to games with and HATED Hal Gill with a passion (but really, who doesn’t?). I think deep down he was tired of the Bruins disappointing him. I bought him a Sens alternate jersey, and he wore it to the game where Dafoe and Lalime fought – after the game, we were drinking at the Penalty Box and some punkass prettyboy in club clothes caused me to engage in a fist fight over my boyfriend being a Sens fan… what?!

That list is odd … there are no entries for #2 there, even though Eddie Shore’s number is retired (they do list that at the top on the list of retired numbers).
Some of the retired jersey guys (like Espo, Orr, and others) are listed in the detailed numbers section, so I don’t know why they don’t list Shore down there.
Because he played prior to the 1951 season

yes,
but the era that Oates played in was a pretty bad time for this team – Sinden was making bad move after bad move, and wouldn’t pay anyone more than Bourque’s $2.5m (or even close to it) – we had a few guys (Neely, Oates, Bourque) who deserved a Cup and had come very close a couple times but just couldn’t beat the Oilers – and after Moog left, the Bruins were always missing a key component.
