Kevin McGran of the Toronto Star came up with some realignment ideas after the 2011-12 season, and I think they're not that good - two of them are geographically divided, but have long-standing division rivalries broken up, and the other guarantees a Canadian team a berth in the semifinals each year. I have no problem with a Canadian team making the playoffs yearly if their record warrants it, but I don't think the NHL should or would cater to the paranoid ramblings of the "omg, the NHL hates us, so please bring the Cup back to where it belongs or I'll eat my tinfoil hat right now" crowd.
