This is a Kenny Powers wig, but it might work nicely for this:

I have a Winter Classic hat signed by Sturm, Morris, Chara, and Recchi. Just missing Krejci and Bergeron to get all of the point garners for the game.

My dad has a Glen Wesley game used stick that was signed by the 1992-93 squad, but I’m not allowed to touch it for fear of dying due to overwhelming awesomeness.

I can't seriously be asked to summarize my sports fandom in a short blurb for all to see, can I?

by Johnny Appleseed on Jul 19, 2011 1:39 AM EDT reply actions

I also have a Mike O’connell stick signed by him, Orr, Bourque, Brad Park, Jim Craig, Buyck, O’Reilly and a bunch more. I got lucky, it was my aunts and she had three girls so she gave the stick to her only nephew.

by Dave Carignan on Jul 19, 2011 2:03 AM EDT reply actions

Oops. Meant to take a couple pictures last night:
I have a 1980-something team -autographed stick (early 80s, between 81-82 and 83-84, because Krushelnyski’s on there), and a Neely autographed jersey and book that my boss surprised me with last year (he and Cam are apparently bff’s). I used to have a handful of other autographed things, but I threw out a lot of stuff due to breakup rage a couple years ago (including like 20 jerseys, aa Neely-autographed hat, and several really cool wall hangings – doh!!)… I’ll get a couple pictures tonight!

Next time, donate some of the swag to needy fans…like me :D

by tkent on Jul 21, 2011 11:11 AM EDT up reply actions

Let's see...

-Shawn Thornton and Mark Stuart autographed pucks from one of the $5 puck charity nights where you pay $5 for a souvenir puck with a random autograph on it. Good stuff, always worth getting one when they have them.
-1970 Stanley Cup team photo button from a co-worker.
-1989 program from same co-worker.
and…
-The most awesome thing ever with an awesome story. My dad delivered for Pepsi in the ’80s, and one of his regular stops was the old Garden locker room – he used to have to go see Chief for the payment, and he got his skates sharpened there. At one point, Geoff Courtnall took a stick, put masking tape down it, and had the entire locker room sign it. It hangs in my room. Too cool.

Oh my god, I totally forgot THE BIG ONE-

probably because it’s a mess and I don’t have it framed or anything (hence it being a mess) :

My father used to deliver bread to whatever hotel the Bruins always stayed at post-same in the 70s (I don’t know what hotel it was, he’s dead, so I can’t ask him), but I have the Boston Herald picture of Bobby Orr from May 11, 1970 autographed. It’s in a box in my room somewhere. I wish it were in better shape, but it came from a Bobby Orr scrapbook my grandmother forced my sister to make when she was only 4 (1972). It’s badass.

Kick his ass, Seabass!

by phonymahoney on Jul 19, 2011 1:28 PM EDT reply actions

let me clarify, since I only told half the story: he was lucky enough to eat breakfast with those guys at the hotel a few times, and he was lucky enough to run into them the morning after their first Cup win, and voila!

Kick his ass, Seabass!

by phonymahoney on Jul 19, 2011 1:31 PM EDT up reply actions

i have my fathers Rick Smith stick from when he was a kid, at one time it was signed by pretty much the whole 1970 bruins team and then some….of course being a kid at that time my dad still played with it, and over time the names have dryed out and are fadded

But i did meet Shawn Thornton last season and brought it with me and he got a kick out of it and was happy to sign it for me!

i felt like a 10 year old school girl when i got my picture taken with him, ha

I have more than I thought at first...

Bobby Orr’s signature on a picture of “the goal” as well as a signed puck, met him at a Fleet Bank event back in the 90’s. Ray Bourque signed stick bought at charity auction. Ray Bourque puck/card collectible thing. Adam Oates puck/card collectible thing. Terry O’Reilly jersey from the 70’s, free from a friends-grandmothers-attic.

Need more swag for sure…going to buy a jersey for next season, any suggestions for player? I have a Marchand t-shirt in honor of him being a badass during the cup run.

by tkent on Jul 21, 2011 11:07 AM EDT reply actions

I can’t suggest a player for someone else. It all depends on what playstyle appeals to you, y’know?

Kick his ass, Seabass!

by phonymahoney on Jul 21, 2011 1:52 PM EDT up reply actions

When I want a jersey I always look for the player that best exemplifies what I like in a player. To be honest I am looking at getting a new jersey with Neely on it because no one will ever replace him in my eyes.

They did it for Savy, they did it for Horton, they did it for each other, they did it for us. I give you the 2011 Stanley Cup Champions....The Boston Bruins!!

by beachguy113 on Jul 21, 2011 3:48 PM EDT up reply actions

Collection consists of:

I have a picture of me and Cam Neely autographed from when I was 12 at a Big Brothers Charity Auction. I also got my Neely jersey signed by him and Adam Oates there. I got frame of 4 different pictures of Bobby Orr thats signed specifically to me, as well as an ECF t shirt autographed by the 1992 team.

I also have tonnes of other players stuff but they arent Bruins so you probably arent interested but in case you want the players names: Scott Stevens, Brian Bellows, Steve Larmer, Paul Coffey, Wendell Young, Al Macinnis, Mike Richards, Gregory Campbell. If you can guess the connection of those players (with the exception of Steve Larmer it was his brother Jeff that fits into the puzzle) then kudos to you!!

Now I just need to find something comerative from this past season to add to the collection.

They did it for Savy, they did it for Horton, they did it for each other, they did it for us. I give you the 2011 Stanley Cup Champions....The Boston Bruins!!

I don’t have much Bruins swag, I’m not a real big collector. My uncle got me a sweet autograph from Bobby Orr for my high school graduation. BUT…..

Even though he isn’t a bruin, this story is awesome for me.
I was about nine years old and my family and I were up in Toronto for a family vacation. We visited the Hockey Hall of Fame where I ended up putting in pins from the two youth teams I played on, The Lakers out of Worcester and the Providence Jr. Flyers of the MBHL, which was really cool! But as some of you may know Wayne Gretzky has a self titled restaurant up there. I rushed in there as any hopeful nine year old would be hoping the Great One was in there and walked out with my held hung low when he wasn’t. Then an old man came out and asked who was looking for Wayne Gretzky and when I said I was he told me that he was his dad and maybe he could help! After talking and meeting with him, he told us that he’d talk to his son and send a couple autographs to us! Sure enough two weeks later we got the signed pictures with one personalized to me! I know it isn’t bruins but it is none the less awesome!

I can't wait to get back home, To the city streets where I come from, To the Dirty Water of Boston, USA!

Walter Gretzky

is a great man. At the golf course I work at he plays in a few of the charity events as a guest and even though hes not getting around as well as he did he still comes out every year for this event and brings some Wayne memoribilia to auction off for the charity.

I used to play in hockey tourneys in Brantford growing up as a kid and if your team made the finals Walter would come in to your room before and after the championship game for a quick speech. He truly is one of the greatest men out there. He might not be the same guy now as he is getting a lil up there but just such a nice guy.

They did it for Savy, they did it for Horton, they did it for each other, they did it for us. I give you the 2011 Stanley Cup Champions....The Boston Bruins!!

Looking back on the experience it really is an amazing thing what he did for me. This random nine year old looks for his son and he goes out of his way to talk to me and then send me some autographs. It just shows that some people are truly nice. We were worried because a week later he ended up having brain surgery and we weren’t sure he would send them. I still can’t believe the luck I had that day and the absolute kindness and generosity of an old man.

I can't wait to get back home, To the city streets where I come from, To the Dirty Water of Boston, USA!
