Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has acquired defenseman Joe Corvo from the Carolina Hurricanes for a fourth round pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

Corvo's cap hit is $2,250,000 next season. He put up 11-29=40 totals last season in Carolina.

This announcement comes moments after Carolina signed Tomas Kaberle for....a lot of money for three years. The Bruins look like winners here. Kaberle had four goals and 42 assists for the Bruins/Leafs last year in the regular season. Essentially they're paying less money for a one-year older guy that can produce nearly as well as Kaberle did.
