Cup O Chowder road trip? 3/31 4/1 From the "We should all Hang out thread"
Figured id start a thread for those of us who want to go on a little road trip to the great state of New New york,
So i guess we could get a head count on who want's to go who wants to drive and what the hell are we going to do down there? oh and i guess where we could stay?
also do we want to get group tickets? is that possible i never actually gone to a game outside the Garden before
Let's make this happen! oh and we can all hit up time square and the NHL Store i know i am!

Okay so as I said in the other thread, I’ll drive for that trip, have 3 seats in my car, yadda yadda. Is the isles game a day game?

I would prefer not to drive because my car is not in the most awesomeest of conditions (i.e. I really need some minor work done, and driving it like 4 hours is probably not the smartest thing I could ever do)…. so, if there’s no room for me in someone else’s car, then I will drive, but if it can be avoided, then I’d much rather carpool.
Kick his ass, Seabass!
I'll start the headcount
2 for tickets (me and my wife)
0 for accommodations
0 for car seats
I can help w/ cheap hotel recs if y’all are looking to stay in the city rather than out at the airports or in industrial Queens. And am handy for a bar itinerary.

Rangers group sales are 20+ as well. I don’t think we’re looking at that many people for that.

Seeing this post makes me wish I lived in MA again. If you’re really feeling ambitious take a road trip to Raleigh to see the Canes because that’s the closet team to me especially now that the Thrashers are gone.
yup. let me know when and I will do it. maybe loop up and hit a caps game on the way back, i enjoy those fools.

I have
the 1970 Stanley Cup Champions banner that my mother made for my father before his trip to Montreal (where he got in a fight which spilled onto the Forum ice, while my mother was at home watching him brawl on tv!) … I could update it to 2011. Been waiting to do that!

my thoughts
1) needs to be after february 12th so i can legally drink
2) i can drive but let the records show i have been in car totaling accidents twice
3) id need to be back for school on monday/leave after friday (i can only skip one day, school is expensive)
4) if people are close to boston but kind of not really, y’all are welcome to sleep on my floor before/after/if we come back late or whatever
5) i just wanted 5 points on this
ilovetheoilerstaylorhall#4
1) march 31/april 1
2) you’re not driving, bro.
3) skip monday, we’ll drive down saturday I think
4) yes
5) yankees suck

I would think before the season starts.
Do we have any idea how much cheap seats will cost? I can’t imagine we have seat snobs on this trip with us?
Kick his ass, Seabass!
by phonymahoney on Aug 7, 2011 11:51 PM EDT up reply actions
we should get 200 level seats for the islanders, balcony for the rangers
I don’t think it has to be set in stone by season start, though.

I’m sure the Islanders game doesn’t have to be figured out before the season starts, but I don’t know how fast Rangers tickets move – that’s my ony concern. Of course, since it’s one of the later regular season games, getting seats may not be an issue.
Kick his ass, Seabass!
i mean, worst comes to worst we can do an every-man-for-himself thing for the rangers game and split up to find seats. they’re not too expensive as singles or pairs.

We should figure out when single-game tickets go on sale and then pick a section or something and go for it then.

Thanks, I’ve never been to an away game so I wasn’t sure how fast tickets move there.

glass seats at the islanders arena suck, the boards are either too high or like 6 feet in front of you

Went last year, sat 1st row behind the goal (which was awesome for heckling purposes) but check this out:
Totally like 6 feet between seat and glass

Fung waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah suckaaaaaaaaaaaa
in all seriousness, I can take like 2 people. 3 is a tight squeeze because I drive an alero coupe. can be done though.
Kick his ass, Seabass!
hotels are mad expensive around here, but same as Boston really – hard to find under 150 in the city. If you all are driving, might make sense to stay out by Laguardia. If you’re more inclined to stay in the city I’ve a couple recs. This place in Brooklyn is running a good deal during the dates and is close to the LIRR for getting to Nassau and is about 15 min by subway to MSG. I put my family up here for my wedding, so I’ll vouch for it as a nice place.
we can probably cram 4 people in a room, too. I am all about sacrificing comfort for money. and it’s only one night, so whatevs, $150 isn’t the end of the world.
i like brooklyn.

nah you'd have to rock a ference Pens jersey for that
he was totally mainstream on the flames, everyone there loved him.
