I can't say I'm the biggest KHL fan, in fact, I've never followed them at all. When I woke up late today I scrolled through Twitter to see the news. Then I saw it all over Facebook, had a text from my brother and saw BBM statuses about it. Unreal.

I've been consumed by it all day. Marian Gaborik tweeting for the first time since April of 2010 gave me chills. I had heard of the NHL names and then I saw Vasyunov. I had season tickets to the Lowell Devils (I think maybe I was the only one....) and he played there. He was never someone I watched closely but my struggle to pronounce his name had him stick out to me. I have a handful of Devils stuff signed by him and that kind of feels weird to me.

My thoughts are with anyone who has been affected by the tragedy.
