Hitting The Link: Crappy Family Roadtrip Edition

PrintThere's a metaphor for this Bruins' trip to Florida in here somewhere; a metaphor about roadtrips. Sometimes they go well; sometimes you're stuck in the back seat with the kid who farts all the time. Sometimes your dad threatens to turn the car around because you're squabbling with your siblings too much. Last year's western Canada road trip is the equivalent of the awesome spring break roadie you took with your best friends where nothing went wrong.
Not this one. This is the trip where you accidentally found a cool hotel but it doesn't matter because everything else is kind of dull and annoying -- and oh, you left two of the people who were originally supposed to go at home. The Bruins stumbled into the two points they earned on this two-game trip, and just barely at that. Is it a measurement of how the team plays without Brad Marchand and Rich Peverley? Do those two guys really elevate this team's game beyond ordinary and into spectacular territory?
After the jump, the Bruins take the Cup to Cape Canaveral, Jonas Hiller is underrated, Ken Hitchcock isn't satisfied with his first place team, and PANCAKES!!...

When I initially read this, I thought it happened in practice… warmups? That makes it a particularly retarded injury. Downright impressive if you ask me. I bet Hall avoids pancakes at all costs,

OR, your parents decide to drive to from Boston to Disney World with you and your four siblings in tow, and they only bring three cassettes with them (and are stuck in the 60s): Kenny Rogers, Johnny Rivers, and Buddy Holly. Hearing The Gambler, Secret Agent Man and Maybe, Baby still stress me out to this day.

Not in favor of line changes at all. This team has been the best team in hockey for an extended period of time. This is a hiccup, and a minor one consider what other teams hiccups look like. With Marchand and Pevs back in the lineup you go right back to what got you here.

The Bruins stumbled into the two points they earned on this two-game trip, and just barely at that. Is it a measurement of how the team plays without Brad Marchand and Rich Peverley? Do those two guys really elevate this team’s game beyond ordinary and into spectacular territory?
Well, Pevs brings speed and chemistry to the third line, and Marchand brings a lot of energy to the game… after three games of being with Marchand and losing Peverley, I could see why they went into the two games in Florida looking uninspired.
Ham&eggs is really, really trying to get that first goal, huh?

at 5pm, you said “in 7 hours” putting start time at midnight. Site was already blacked-out when I went back at 11 (although that may be because I am in stupid Central Time Zone and EST is an hour behind us…) regardless of time zones…it is now only been 10 hours (11? i’m lost..whatever; neither 10 NOR 11 = 24!) and the site is back up.
