The Noon Number
87 - The total number of goals allowed during the 2011-12 season by the Boston Bruins. Even with the five goals allowed last night against the Tampa Bay Lightning, Boston is tied with the New York Rangers for the fewest goals surrendered.
Last night was also the first time Boston has allowed over four goals this season. Tim Thomas' GAA "jumped" to 2.06 after last night, leaving him seventh among goaltenders with at least 10 games played.

Bergeron for Selke.
Give Nifty his number back!
What more can you ask for? Two goalies at #1 and #6 in GAA, a crazy potent offense that can put up 5+ goals a night, tough, etc., etc., etc.
Johnny Boychuk - The infamous bottle of $100,000 champagne, I thought it was meh.

Is it just me or did it seem like a sluggish game last night? No fire in the eyes.

Definitely sluggish. Nothing to worry about though. Contrary to popular belief, it happens to every team from time to time. The encouraging thing for the Bruins is that they go through their doldrums and still tend to lose by a goal or a goal + ENG.
Though I feel like Caron and Hamill are doing about what can be expected of them, downgrading from Marchand and Peverley in the speed department is fairly significant. Not surprising the team looked slower with out them.
