Public Skate: One More Game

Boston Bruins at Washington Capitals, Jan 24, 2012 7:00 PM EST

WASHINGTON - OCTOBER 19: Tim Thomas #30 of the Boston Bruins makes a save against the Washington Capitals at the Verizon Center on October 19 2010 in Washington DC. (Photo by Greg Fiume/Getty Images)

The first "half" of Boston's season wraps up today in Washington, and it's safe to say that many of the Bruins are ready for the hard-earned time off. But they'll have to earn two more points tonight if they want to truly enjoy it.

The Bruins will be without Nathan Horton tonight, and for an undisclosed amount of time going forward. The Capitals will be without Alexander Ovechkin for the next three games.

Boston, which also is without Andrew Ference, who is serving a suspension for charging the New York Rangers' Ryan McDonagh, looks to close out the first half of the season on a high note against a Capitals' squad that has seen its share of struggles lately, but has rounded into form of late.

Expect to see Benoit Pouliot in Horton's place on the right wing with David Krejci and Milan Lucic, and look for Zach Hamill to center Rich Peverley and Chris Kelly in Pouliot's absence on the third line.

Hi guys

So Timmy’s comments make him seem like kind of an Ayn Rand/Ron Paul fanboy, which isn’t very good.

At best, he’s a libertarian-conservative. At worst, he’s one of those sovereign citizens milita type people who’s arming himself against the government.

by Anthony Emerson on Jan 24, 2012 6:55 PM EST up reply actions

by BobbyOrrsBastard on Jan 24, 2012 6:56 PM EST up reply actions

as the right side of the political spectrum goes, I can generally deal w/ libertarianism, as it tends to be more fiscally conservative than socially by definition. It’s the social that really gets my goat

by TomServo42 on Jan 24, 2012 6:57 PM EST up reply actions

Likewise.

I mean, I’m not conservative by any stretch of the imagination, but when the social conservative try to disenfranchise entire groups of people, that’s wrong.

A positive nots re: Horton and Timmy not playing tonight-

Caps could run Timmy and then Horton goes batshit crazy retaliating because of the notion that there’s a locker room issue due to the Timmy snubbing Obama thing, causing the B’s to incur 32,457,102,827 PIMs, and losing the game.

Of course, my mind has been wandering lately, so that’s just a crazy idea anyhow.
