Hitting The Links: Hugs From Zdeno Edition
So Tyler Seguin just tweeted "The hug from z was more special. apparently im going to be tweeting in the skills comp #tsn. Get ready fellow tweetalies. #allstarweekend"
Oh excellent. I love the All Star game. It's good for the fans, the media tries to take everything way too seriously (remember the "analysis" of the draft last year?, and it's time for the players to get a good break in mid-season. In a word, awesome.
After the jump, let's take a closer look at the hilarity of last night's draft...
Bruins News:
- Zdeno Chara and Tyler Seguin's special edition hockey hug last night was excellent. [Puck Daddy]
- The All-Star Game should be just what the Bruins need to re-boot and get off to a great second half start. [Rant Sports]
- Hahahaha the Province strikes again. "CODY HODGSON FALLS PREY TO THE DARK SIDE" this is hilarious. [Province]
- Tim Thomas has his teammates' "full and unwavering support." well, duh. [PHT]
- This blog thinks Zdeno Chara doesn't have a complete grasp of the english language. Really? [The Score]
NHL News:
- Aw, the Blackhawks miss Brian Campbell. All the 'hawks are on team Chara. [Sun Times]
- This is a great piece on Dennis Wideman's breakout. Also on team Chara. [Washington Times]
- The All-star game offers a unique insight into some of the players' lives. And their preferences in ladies, apparently. [Free Press]

He did have a fairly thick accent at the intro’s and let Lupul do all the talking. I can understand why they might think that.

Good point. Didn’t want to pull his back out.
That or he liked making a Leafs player suffer through the boos.

lupul actually said that’s why he was making all the announcements, that Chara liked hearing him get booed, lol. That article is comical at best.

I hadn’t heard that. Fantastic.
Still disappointed Z took Kessel so early and got Seguin before the last round. Should have left the kid worry til the final two.

on snubbing chara's handshake
"I gave him a point after, actually, when I walked by. He kind of looked at me funny. I felt bad. He’s a big guy so I was like, ‘Oh, how’d I miss him?’ I was looking down – you know goalies don’t stickhandle with their heads up."

I doubt it was an intentional thing… he doesn’t seem like the type frankly.

haha no i highly doubt it. I think he was too in shock from actually getting picked. Outside of being a Hab, Price seems like a pretty good dude.

The little shuffle/jog there was also hilarious.
I did notice his chair shift during the broadcast but didn’t realize the extent of it. Dude’s a bit odd…
