Top of the Mornin' Folks!
Today we celebrate 2 anniversaries.
The first is that this year in 1926, 84 years ago, a fine young gentleman by the name of Eddie Shore debuted in his first NHL game with the Boston Bruins. Eddie Shore and the Bruins beat the crayon-eating habs 4-1 At Boston Arena, which is still standing today. It's where Northeastern play their home games. Eddie Shore would then go on to be pretty great. He also still owns the record for fighting majors in a game, with 5.
Tonight, Northeastern will be down the road at Providence College instead of honoring one of hockey's greatest players of all time. Jerks.
The second anniversary is worlds more petty. On this date in 1986, Mike Bossy scored his 545th NHL goal, passing none other than Maurice Richard on the all-time scoring list. Feels good.
