Last time the Bruins faced the Preds was 3/17/11.

Man, I really wish this Bruins-Preds game tomorrow was in Nashvegas. I'd totally go.

So hey, did you hear that Scott Gomez scored last night? Good for you, Gomez. Now you have half as many goals as Jordan Caron and Adam McQuaid, and a fourth as many goals as Shawn Thornton. If's funny looking at the Bruins and then thinking about the fact that other teams pay and employ and ice players who aren't even expected to score goals. Amazing.

After the jump, some stuff on the 2013 Winter Classic, the Penguins are cursed, and the Bruins get to have a lovely bag skate...

I know it’s a bit superstitious (an I have been bitten a few times) but I typically sit any player playing in a game against the Bs. My hope, though, is that that the Bs trade for Weber at the deadline so I won’t have to sit him.

I am not sure what is up with David Krejci this year?

Last year he was a 23, this year he is a -3. I don’t know if Horton being out has really hurt his numbers that much, but maybe Krejci is the kind of player that has one good season (37), one bad season (8), another good (23), another bad (-3)…I like Krejci, and would not want him to be traded, but his productivity needs to pick up, especially on the defensive end of his game…

They should sit Corvo, I was looking at his stats and am wondering why he is on this team..

He doesn’t Score or hit, he shoots but that is about it…

Joe Corvo:

52 Games Played
3 Goals
17 Assists
13 PIM’s
+12
1 PP Goal
6 PP Assists
123 Shots
2.4 S% (The WORST on the team, even Boychuk is better)

Plus, he is listed with on 17 hits and 39 blocked shots for a guy that averages 18.33 minutes per game those are not very good numbers.

by pemci on Feb 10, 2012 11:38 AM EST reply actions

not sure why I'm playing devil's advocate

since I think the guy’s a disaster, but he’s middle of the pack in Corsi for the team and doesn’t have too terrible a differential between his Zone Starts and Finish . Claude clearly doesn’t think much of his defensive game, as he’s getting 56 O zone starts, but still he’s not really getting hemmed in his own zone. Which is sort of his job.

Strangely, by zone starts Andrew Ference is our best defenseman at getting the puck up the ice, albeit probably as a result of facing weak competition.

I'm out, peace - Tim Thomas

by TomServo42 on Feb 10, 2012 11:47 AM EST up reply actions

Wasn't that the silver lining last year with Kaberle?

Bummer :(

And to think Sestiso did not even get a call from Shanahan!

by pemci on Feb 10, 2012 1:04 PM EST up reply actions

I know...

I know the Bruins don’t like to call out the league on plays typically, but sometimes I wish they aired out their anger a little more. Sometimes I hate when they clearly get screwed, and Julien will just comment how things go your way, or don’t go your way, sometimes I just want to see them blow a gasket. I mean Sestiso’s hit was ridiculous, had everything you don’t want…high, and blind side moving east-west. Not only no penalty, but Horton wound up getting a penalty.

I do appreciate that the Bruins don’t whine and complain all the time cough Vancouver cough, but sometimes I just wish they would say what needs to be said. Because it seems to me like the squeaky wheel is always getting the oil.
