The Noon Number
-3 - The plus/minus rating for David Krejci, who is the only Bruins regular with a minus rating for the season.
Despite being fourth on the team in points, Krejci and his two regular linemates, Horton and Lucic, are three of the worst plus/minus performers for the Bruins. While the second and third lines are all in double digits, the first line is a -3 (Krejci), +6 (Lucic) and 0 (Horton.)

Well, it does look like
Krejci has Jekyll and Hyde seasons. One season he is +37 then the next +8, last season he was +23, this year he is -3….
Could he be nursing an injury? He signed a 3 year contract earlier this year, but his numbers this year are not great…
Yet he is on pace for his second best season point-wise despite reduced TOI compared to the last two seasons and likely playing stiffer competition.

Agreed. Though when comparing within the same team it’s not as ridiculous. Doesn’t account for the different responsibilities each player has but at least it doesn’t ignore team strength as it does when comparing across teams.

True enough but it’s not like Eric Staal is the worst player on the Hurricanes

Just like Ilya Kovalchuk. He has a miserable career +/- but the guy just has ridiculous skill.

By the way, in no way am I saying
run him out of town or trade him. He was so-so last year as well, but was an absolute force to contend with in the playoffs. :) Plus, he also has a couple of game winners on the shootout, which are not included in his stats…
Looooong deal even if the $ evens out. I guess that comes down to whether you want a shoot-first center rather than a playmaker. Certainly wouldn’t mesh with the current line configuration.
Though he would fit in nicely with brosefs Horton and Looch
I'm out, peace - Tim Thomas
Not for that albatross of a contract.

Not that I wouldn’t like to see Carter here, he’s always hurt and wouldn’t want to lose Krejci for him.
