The Noon Number

BOSTON - NOVEMBER 06: Jaroslav Halak #41 of the St. Louis Blues stops a shot by Nathan Horton #18 of the Boston Bruins on November 6 2010 at the TD Garden in Boston Massachusetts. The Blues defeated the Bruins 2-1 in an overtime shootout. (Photo by Elsa/Getty Images)

60 - The total number of all-time victories by the Bruins against the St. Louis Blues. Boston is traveling to STL tonight to face the Blues for the 125th time in their history.

Fun fact - Boston went 5-1 against another STL team, the St. Louis Eagles, during the 1934-35, their only season in the NHL.

With Sarah’s connection to STL, I figured it would be a good day to focus on the opponent. Great picture above.

It’s gonna be tough with the way we’re playing and St. Louis only losing 3 at home this season. It’ll be nice to see Sobotka once again though.

now, now. they’ve lost more than that at home, just not in regulation

But they’ve also fired their coach 13 games into the season. In the hitchcock era, they’re 23-2-4 at home. Those home losses are:

November:
10th: 2-3 (SO) to Toronto
22nd: 2-3 to LA
December:
3rd: 2-5 to Chicago (last home regulation loss)
30th: 1-2 (SO) to Nashville
January:
12th: 2-3 (OT) to Vancouver
24th: 2-3 (SO) to Pittsburgh

what I’m saying is they’re due.

If the Blues win tonight, they’ll have won every home game in February. This cannot stand.

They’re due to lose, we’re due to win. But it’s all doo-doo ‘til the final buzzer sounds. The Blues have taken four OT/SO losses at home, but in my old school book, those are essentially ties, with the bonus point. The one positive, if we do go to SO, they’re only 2-6.

Well with Langenbrunner out, I can see how Hitch might want to get some speed on the top line.

Oh, Blues

On the flipside, your city is awesome, Monster Trucks were invented there, your arena has great atmosphere, and Dat Alternate...

Either way, I think Dat Alt is one of, if not the best, alts in the game right now.
