With the No. 24 pick in the 2012 NHL Draft, the Boston Bruins select Malcolm Subban, a goaltender from the Belleville Bulls of the Ontario Hockey League. Subban was the No. 1 ranked North American goaltender in the draft according to Central Scouting.

Subban is the younger brother of P.K. Subban, the defenseman from the Montreal Canadiens. Malcolm was a defenseman until age 12 when he switched to goaltending. He played for Team Canada at the 2011 World Junior Championship, finishing the tournament with a .913 save percentage.

In 39 games with Belleville, Subban compiled a 2.50 goals against average and a .923 save percentage. His biggest strength would have to be poise: His ability to bounce back from a weak goal or a bad game is of note and makes him standout in the Major Junior ranks.
