Local Women's Rec Leagues

Hello everyone - I'm back!

You all were so helpful the last time I posted a question here (re: the Preds/Bruins game, for anyone who cares or doesn't remember) that I have come back to ask for your help once again. I'm about to shoot Google in the face with a rusty knife to shove its balls down its throat, so while I have no idea if you'll be able to help me this time, you certainly can't make me any more frustrated than I already am!

So here's the deal: I want to play for a local women's rec league this fall.

I'm still relatively new to Boston (just celebrated my one year move-iversary!), and I finally brought all my hockey stuff back up with me after I went home to Nashville last week. Of course that got me all excited about playing, so I just spent almost two and a half hours on Google trying various combinations of words and clicking from link to link to new site, back to old site to link to dead link to league to another dead end to bullshit to skills class to hell and finally to fuck-it-all-I-am-giving-the-fuck-up-.com. I'm so done with trying to search for this shit online. Maybe I'm just bad at Googling stuff, but.... is it really possible to be bad at Googling? I was trying to figure out what to do about my furious predicament, when suddenly it hit me... why don't I just go ask the big-ass local Boston hockey community at SBN? Locals tend to know more than the Internet, right? They do from my experience!

Sooo here's where I am right now: I found, as I'm sure at least one of you was bound to suggest, the South Shore Women's Hockey League. I sent in a little application dealie, but I refuse to believe that only ONE women's league exists in the greater Boston Area, and I'd like to expand my chances of finding the right league for me.

Do any of you know of any women's rec leagues in the general Boston area? The closer to the Medford/Somerville area the better, but I'm really not picky. Also, if anyone knows any little tidbits of information about this kind of thing that I might not know about because I haven't done this kind of thing before (no idea what said tidbits might be, but hey), I'd love to hear them. If that needs to be more vague, let me know. But mostly I just want to find a damn league. In my dream world, I'm playing in a one-rink-based league that meets once a week to play a game against another team from that rink's league. Does such a thing exist? Literally ANY kind of information will be massively appreciated. I'll buy you a beer or... like... a lobster or something. Yeah. I'm that desperate.

Thanks again!
