Ryan Spooner demoted to the AHL

Bruce Bennett

BUT WHY

Spooner has two assists in two NHL games this year. Why would the Bruins send him back to Providence?

It may be that Loui Eriksson's imminent return has forced him out, or that the Bruins don't want to pay Jordan Caron bigger money to play in the minors. But Spooner's shown flashes of brilliance over the last 120 minutes of Bruins gametime, as one of the bright spots through two fairly bad games for the team - a team that otherwise looks sluggish and slow.

Spooner deserves a solid chance at NHL time - unfortunately, he may not get his shot until next season, and that seems like a shame.
