Preview:

This is only the 18th time in history that the Bruins are playing the Predators, and they haven't played each other in nearly two years - the last game was February 11, 2012, in Boston. The Bruins haven't seen the inside of Bridgestone arena since March 2011 - an OT loss with Tuukka in net before the Cup run. That's right: the last time these two teams played in Nashville, the Bruins hadn't yet won the Cup. It's been THAT long. There are only two teams the Bruins have played fewer times than the Preds, and that's the Blue Jackets and Wild. The Bruins have a 9-4-1-3 record against the Predators all-time.

The Predators are that long-lost relative that you see like every other year at Christmas; you're always a little wary of that odd relative but it is, in fact, good to see them. And that goes the same for this matchup: the roster is basically a list of players you forgot you really liked. From American Patriot And Hero Seth Jones to Viktor "The Swedish" Stalberg (I was personally more of a fan of "The Saugus" myself), to 2009 Frozen Four Champion Of The World Colin Wilson, this whole team is chock full of cool guys.

Even the guy who will probably be in net tonight - Carter Hutton - should elicit nice memories for a good chunk of Boston fans; not only was he an excellent goaltender for the Worcester Sharks back in the day, but he even got his first NHL callup against Boston.

Memorieeeeeees look how proud Worcester is awww

Aside from that, tonight's main storyline really should be all about defense. Great Patriot Seth Jones vs. Also Great Patriot Torey Krug! Giant human Zdeno Chara vs. Minute-Crusher Shea Weber! Also featuring: some other guys! (seriously: what is a Mattias Ekholm?)

Shea Weber is also leading this team in goals. Is this why they call them the Perds? There's some offensive struggles going on here, wow-wee.

Here is the On the Forecheck preview. Check it out.
