Last night, for about two seconds before Carolina got their loser point against the Rangers, the Winnipeg Jets were AHEAD of the Bruins in the standings. Welcome to the Southeast Division. They're terrible.
The Jets are coming off a 4-1 loss to Ottawa on Sunday, a game where only Zach Bogosian managed to score. It ended a six game points streak for Winnipeg, a stretch where they went 5-0-1. They'd been exceptional on the penalty kill through that stretch, but allowed two power play goals by Ottawa on Sunday. Maybe the Bruins power play could get something done against this tired Jets team. (So you're saying there's a chance...)
On the Bruins' end of the ice, though, things aren't exactly all fine and dandy. With David Krejci day to day, the only thing certain is that the Bergeron line will remain intact. It's likeliest that Peverley will slide up to center Milan Lucic and Nathan Horton, and that Ryan Spooner will center Jordan Caron and Jay Pandolfo - but we could also see Gregory Campbell centering the third line, with Spooner between Thornton and Paille. All that's certain is that Krejci needs to get better quick. Despite Spooner's 12-33-45 points total in the AHL right now, it'd still be preferable to have Krejci out there.
This will be the third game in four days for the Bruins, so hopefully fatigue will not be too much of a factor.
