Preview:
The Devils haven't won a game in the month of April. They took Buffalo to a shootout Sunday, and lost to the Maple Leafs 2-1 on Saturday. Before that was Jaromir Jagr's first game as a Bruin. Things aren't really going so well for the Devils these days.
In the last Bruins-Devils game, the Bruins came out flat and remained flat the whole game. It was before this most recent line shakeup; hopefully the Carolina game will have provided enough time for these lines to gel and adjust. As we went over in the recap, the Carolina win may have been big on the scoresheet, but the game itself was ugly; the Bruins have allowed 40+ shots on goal in each of their last three games, and the Hurricanes game was no exception.
Good news from the twitterverse today, though: Patrice Bergeron is back working out and should be back soon. Praise everything. His defensive wizardry has been sorely missed by this Bruins team.
The key to this game will be the same thing that's been key the last few games: try to compensate for the lack of Bergeron. Try to increase defensive responsibility - don't make Tuukka Rask do all the work, guys. Up front - keep doing what you did during the Hurricanes game, although it won't be as easy with a real goaltender in net. (Sorry, Justin Peters. Dan Ellis, I'm not really that sorry for you.)
According to In Lou We Trust, Jacob Josefson and Tom Kostopoulos might not actually be in the lineup for the Devils tonight; they could be replaced by Alexei Ponikarovsky and Matt D'Agostini. Bryce Salvador will also replace Henrik Tallinder.
NEVER FORGET:
OK it's not a Bruins highlight but it's still funny. "Oh baby it's gonna count!"
