"I beg your pardon!" Milan Lucic is upended into Tomas Vokoun - Jared Wickerham

The Pittsburg Penguins showed up to play, and battled the Boston Bruins well into the second overtime period, losing on a (stop me if you've heard this...) Bergeron GWG. The Bruins lost courageous Gregory Campbell to a broken leg after he blocked a shot during a successful PK.

The Pittsburgh Penguins brought their game to the Boston Bruins last night, and STILL lost in the second overtime period. Game 4 showdown will be Friday Night at 8pm.

  • No time to read? Here's the game in a nutshell. [NewEnglandHockeyJournal]
  • The Penguins finally brought their game, to no avail. Tuukka Rask would not yield, and the Bruins doggedly battled on well into two overtime periods. [ESPN]
  • Gregory Campbell hobbled to the bench after having his leg broken blocking a shot on a successful penalty kill, proving THIS IS NOT BASEBALL. [BostonHerald]

  • "The Bruins didn't play their best game. In fact the Penguins were better." But the game demonstrated why the series is so very compelling. [WEEI]
  • Jaromir Jagr won the board battle that set up the Brad Marchand to Patrice Bergeron GWG. David Krejci struck first at only 1:42 in the first period. The Pens did finally dominate in the faceoff circle. [MassLive]
  • Famously known for skating postgame wearing weights, Jagr outfought younger Evgeni Malkin through exhaustion to make the key pass. [BostonHerald]
  • We can laugh at this little joke about Jagr's age now. [@bruinshockeynow]
  • Rask let off some steam at morning skate, allowing his calm demeanor during the marathon game. [ESPN]
  • It was not Jagr who made this complaint about the late hour... [@NaokoFunayama]
  • Those "hero puck skills" of Torey Krug 's were the result of drills and practice with his uncle. [BostonHerald]
  • Enjoy the CBC HNIC opening video for last night's Game 3, aptly set to Radiohead "Karma Police." [YouTube]

  • Consider the source... WOW! "Hundreds" of openly gay players are playing in the NHL, and the Onion names names, notably all four Staal brothers, LOL. [TheOnion]
  • Brother, I feel your pain. Somewhere, someone finds all of this ECF activity familiar. [NucksMisconduct]
