"We want to be as close to our lineup as possible on Friday night." That's what Claude Julien had to say about this preseason trip to the great white north; which also means that tonight could be Bruins fans' last opportunity for a while to see guys like Matt Lindblad, Nick Johnson, Kevan Miller, and possibly Jordan Caron. The third line RW spot and last D spot are still both very much up in the air; tonight could go a long way towards telling us what what we'll be seeing come opening night.
Including: the backup goalie spot! Tonight is Niklas Svedberg's chance to shine; he's being given the full 60 minutes in net tonight. It'll be worth it to tune into the game just to see how he fares; preseason sports may be dumb for the most part, but honestly, they're great for stuff like this. Svedberg was a beast in the AHL last year, and we may or may not be pulling really hard for him to make the team as Rask's backup (because: ALL the swedes?) Here's a good article on Svedberg's situation from Bruins.com this morning.
The Jets have 27 players remaining in camp, and it's likely they'll go the same route as the Bruins: ice the bubble players tonight, get closer to the regular-season lineup tomorrow night. We'll update this piece with lineups from the Jets as soon as they're posted.
