Game Notes:

  • It's the second to last game before the Olympic break for both teams tonight; the Bruins are down a big piece, as Zdeno Chara has left to carry the Slovakian flag in Sochi. On the Blues side, Dmitri Jaskin may draw in for someone, but not sure exactly who, yet.
  • The Blues are most recently coming off a loss to....Ottawa? Yes, the ...ahem, mighty Senators took down the Blues in a shootout on Tuesday night, which also happened to be Olympics Poster Night in St. Louis. They're nice posters. I've somehow accumulated like five of them.
  • The Blues have more Olympians than anyone, and that top defensive pairing will likely log a lot of minutes together for Canada in Sochi. Coach Ken Hitchcock will be doing his thing alongside Claude Julien in Sochi, as well; basically, between them, Chiarelli, and Bergeron, there's a lot of Team Canada happening in this game tonight.
  • The Blues are 5-4-1 in their last 10, and the Bruins are 7-2-1. The last time these two teams met, it (as usual) ended in a shootout win at TD Garden for the Blues; the last time the Bruins played in St. Louis was the 2011-2012 season, and the game ended in a 4-2 victory. But Ryan Reaves scored, so...moral victory for St. Louis??

NEVER FORGET:

There was a lot of sexy involved in this.
