NCAA

Matt Benning (Northeastern University)

Northeastern lost in three against UNH, losing 1-0, winning 5-4 in overtime and losing 5-4. Northeastern came into this series a bubble team needing to win to keep NCAA hopes alive. They still have a slim chance to qualify but in all likelihood, their season is over. Matt Benning returned to the lineup and logged four shots in the series.

Brian Ferlin (Cornell University)

Cornell defeated Clarkson to advance in the ECAC tournament, winning 2-1, losing 4-1 and winning 1-0 in OT. Ferlin registered an assist in each of the first two games and then scored the game/series winner.

Ryan Fitzgerald (Boston College)

BC was upset by an atypical eighth seeded Notre Dame after losing 7-2, winning 4-2 and losing 4-2. BC will not take home the Hockey East tournament trophy, but they've secured a 1 seed in the NCAA tournament. Fitzgerald scored a power play goal to kick off the series.

Zane Gothberg (University of North Dakota)

North Dakota defeats Colorado College to advance in the NCHC tournament, winning 4-2, losing 3-2 in OT and winning 4-3. Gothberg started all three games and saved 73 of 81 shots.

Colton Hargrove (Western Michigan University)

Western Michigan swept Minnesota-Duluth winning 3-2 and 4-3 to advance in the NCHC tournament. Hargrove had a goal in the first game.

Rob O'Gara (Yale University)

Yale was swept by Quinnipiac 2-6 and 3-5 in a rematch of last year's NCAA title game. Yale's season is now over and so is their title defense. O'Gara had two shots in the first game.

Ben Sexton (Clarkson University)

Clarkson was defeated by Cornell, losing 1-2, winning 4-1 and losing 1-0 in OT. Their season is now over despite a very strong start which fizzled around the time Sexton was injured. Sexton had two assists in Clarkson's win.

GOJHL/OHL

Mitch Dempsey (Kitchener Dutchmen - currently at Kitchener Rangers)

Kitchener lost each of this week's games - 7-3 to Guelph, 7-6 to Sarnia and 3-2 to Windsor. They finish ninth in their conference, well outside of a playoff spot. Dempsey did not play in any of the games.

Linus Arnesson (Djurgardens)

Djurgardens aka Animal Gardens aka Mesta Mästarna, Stockholms Stolthet, was off this week. They open up 2014 Kvalserien on March 17 against AIK, the team that finished last in the SHL this season.

Anton Blidh (Frölunda)

Frölunda opened its Slutspel tournament series against Linköpings with a 3-2 win. Blidh played on the fourth line and registered two shots in the victory.

Peter Cehlarik (Luleå)

Luleå lost 4-0 to Växjö in the opening game of its Slutspel tournament. Cehlarik did not play in the game.

Maxim Chudinov (SKA Saint Petersburg)

SKA swept CSKA in four games after OT wins of 2-1and 5-4 (they were up 2-0 in the series coming into the week). Chudinov registered an assist in the clinching game. They await two other series to finish to find out who they play next.
