This will be the third time in as many playoff series the Kings are going to a Game 7. They really must be like the Bruins of the West if they don't want to make anything easy for themselves. Jonathan Quick, pretty average throughout this series, has just been warming up, apparently:
Justin Williams is another King who seems to save his best for last, racking up 12 points (six goals and six assists) in every Game 7 he has been in.
Meanwhile, the Blackhawks are looking to be the first team since the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2009 to make it to the Final two years in a row. Winning the Cup two years in a row? Booooooring. (Just kidding.) They're also putting up some frightening numbers when it comes to closing out playoff games -- they've gone 13-0 in all series that go beyond four games over the last two seasons and also have an undefeated record of 5-0 when playing in a Game 7. Also saving his best for last is Patrick Kane who has scored 2 goals and 5 assists in the past two games against the Kings. He's just tearing it up now, and it's hard to imagine he'll go quietly into the night for this game at the United Center.
Gah! Is it five o'clock yet?
How about now?
Oh, in the meantime, you might want to pick up one of these. Maybe two:
Ha. Final questions -- how do you think this game is going to play out? Someone is going to get their undefeated in Game Sevens record messed up tonight; who will it be? If Quick and Corey Crawford were to fight it out tonight, who would win? Are any of you feeling really nervous about this game? Why the hell IS that?
I really hope that this is a game that everyone will be talking about tomorrow, regardless of who wins. Having said that, GO KINGS GO!
And PS -- Don't forget to breathe.
