Trades? maybe?

I was going to write a satire & joke filled fan post about trades that could, but absolutely wouldn't happen. A bunch of #HotTakes. Maybe i still will if you'd like. However, after a good January following up with a dismal February, I thought to myself while working, what could Chiarelli do that could in fact make this team better. Cap & roster figures brought by spotrac.com. We all know that the Bruins have under 3 million dollars in cap space and that PC loves to hand out no trade clauses more than Oprah hands out free cars.

Number one: Improve the defense

Per Arizona, roster overhaul is coming. There's been some talk that also up for grabs is Oliver Ekman-Larsson. Now we know the Coyotes are not very good, and with Mike Smith & Mike McKenna (who?) on the roster, goal tending is clearly an issue. Mike Smith can be great at times, but still can be Not great. There are rumors going around that there is interst in Malcolm Subban. Now I don't think Subban for OEL is going to happen. Even I'd be calling for Maloney's head. However, maybe a Package deal of Subban, Bartkowski, and a 2nd rounder for him? I don't know what the price for OEL is, however I do know his 5.5mil cap hit means more moves are gonna have to be made.

Number two: Solidify the right wing position.

Cam Atkinson would be the best fit. Out of the other two names in this article, one I could say, okay? the other, Please no. I will admit that when Stewart was with the Blues & the B's hadn't signed Iginla I wanted them to give him an offer sheet, but that was before he became perma-bad. Now he's got a crappy ass cap hit & well, perma-bad, he's getting healthy scratched IN BUFFALO. But, back to the trades here. Cam Atkinson would be a great fit here in Boston & would be great on the 2nd line with Bergeron & Marchand. I'm hearing, mostly in chowder comments though that Columbus doesn't really want to move him? or that it's not a priority? So what's it gonna take? Maybe Spooner & a pick?

Other Ideas.

Make some roster moves within the organization. For whatever reason, I'm guessing a special spice mix, Bartkwoski has been stuck on the 9th floor. Sure, he's also known as Bad Luck Bart, but I know that for a stretch of time before "The Benching" occurred, he was starting to play very well. Putting "poor man's McQuaid" on the 9th floor and pairing Bart with Seidenberg & moving McQuaid with Krug.

Selling off.

Despite being in a playoff position, the Bruins are in a tough spot should they get to the greatest post season of all time. Needing to resign players such as Krug, Hamilton, Soderberg, it may be time to start creating extra cap room. With the NTC's of Seidenberg, Kelly, Lucic (why!?) maybe it's time to part ways with super pest Brad Marchand. His 4.5 mil cap hit is one of the few roster players who don't have a NTC. I've personally not heard anything on this thought (crazy considering the large amount of Zdeno trade talk), so where would he land. Arizona has a bunch of cap space, as well as teams like Ottawa, Calgary & Buffalo. Send him out west, maybe a salary dump, or maybe for a guy like TJ Brodie?

The elephant in the room.

Trading Chara. First and foremost here. If PC is looking to move Big Z. Some one should slap him with a fish, a good strong smelling fish, salmon maybe? Cold and wet. Okay now that's out of the way. No one should be safe to hear their name called in a trade as a resounding no, except for Bergeron, duh. Zdeno Chara is the best defenesman in the NHL. Trading him would be a clear sign that you are done this year and do not want to compete for the Cup. However, not all Chara options aren't that bad. I mentioned this in one of the trade thread that if Arizona came calling for the big man, I want Ekman-Larsson & another defenseman back. I don't know of any other team that can make me not hate losing Chara. If someone could help me out with that one, that'd be great.

Okay, now for the big moment. THE TRADE

This is what I want. From Boston to CBJ: Seidenberg, spooner & 2nd round pick. In return: Cam Atkinson, & Jack Johnson. From Boston to Arizona: Johnson, Svedberg, Marchand & 1st round pick. In return. Oliver Ekman-Larsson & Kyle Chipchura.

Okay. Thanks for all your time, and here's the Bergeron Tax
