Fresh off of his sophomore season in the NHL, David Pastrnak will get a chance to represent his country at the senior level for the first time in the upcoming IIHF World Championships in Russia.
Per the Czech national team’s Instagram account:
Loosely translate, the text reads:
I’m glad that I’m healthy and can fulfill my dream. I’ve always wanted to play for the senior team and now I have the chance.
Pastrnak has appeared for the Czech national team at pretty much every "amateur" level, from U16 all the way up to U20 (including the most recent U20 World Junior Championships).
Pastrnak put up 15G-11A-26PTS totals in 51 games this year with the Bruins. He was already named to the Czech Republic’s preliminary roster for this fall’s World Cup of Hockey.
Congrats to the kid on the honor of representing his country again!
