Andrew Ference Interview on WEEI Possible Drinking Game
I was listening to Andrew Ferences weekly interview on WEEI this morning. Well we could make one hell of a drinking game for every time he says "you know" or mentions the enviroment. I lost track of the amount of times he said you know in about 30 seconds. If you didn't hear it see if you can find it on WEEI's website. Its worth hearing the amount of "you knows" he says. Feel free to add to the rules.
I say 1 drink for a you know and 2 for per enviromental mention.

Man, I really wish this Bruins-Preds game tomorrow was in Nashvegas. I'd totally go.
So hey, did you hear that Scott Gomez scored last night? Good for you, Gomez. Now you have half as many goals as Jordan Caron and Adam McQuaid, and a fourth as many goals as Shawn Thornton. If's funny looking at the Bruins and then thinking about the fact that other teams pay and employ and ice players who aren't even expected to score goals. Amazing.
After the jump, some stuff on the 2013 Winter Classic, the Penguins are cursed, and the Bruins get to have a lovely bag skate...
You could see this Bruins funk coming a mile away.
It was pretty clear January and February were going to be tough when I looked at it in December...
Stat of the Week
Since defeating the floundering Habs on January 12th, the Bruins have had a rough 12 games. They've gone 5-6-1 over that span, which on the surface doesn't seem awful. Last night's no show to the Sabres not only dropped them under .500 since the Montreal win, it also ran their goal differential during that span to -7 (not counting OT/SO).
Two Bruins have had particularly bad plus/minus numbers during this slide have been involved in the same D pairing, with Dennis Seidenberg (-10) and Joe Corvo (-6). The reason this is worth noting is that with all of the talk surrounding potential trade targets in Ray Whitney, Tuomo Ruutu, Teemu Selanne, Ryan Smyth, and a host of others, the place where the Bruins might be most in need of an upgrade is another legitimate top 4 defenseman, who would split the Corvo-Seidenberg pairing up, and allow the Bruins to better weather injuries, rotate out struggling players, and (where possible) exploit certain matchup opportunities in the playoffs.
Behold the 2013 AHL All-Star Game logo. Nautical. Also interesting is the use of the retro logo that Providence uses on their kick-ass alternate jersey, and not the outlined version that is their standard look. Could this mean they retro logo will be replacing their current primary?

This Week In Bruins History: Dit Clapper's Number Retired
One February 12, 1947 the Boston Bruins honored Aubrey "Dit" Clapper by retiring the only sweater he wore his entire NHL career. Clapper wore the number 5 which he help bring three Stanley Cup Championships to the city of Boston. Clapper was the big name in Boston after Eddie Shore retired and before the Bobby Orr days where he wore the C on his chest and gave it his all during every game.

Ugh. Just....ugh.
There weren't really any bright spots in last night's game. Just an embarrassing blowout. Every team suffers a few every year (please remember: the Red Wings getting blown out 10-3 right before playoffs last year by the already-numerically eliminated Blues) so...whatever, on to the Predators on Saturday. But one has to wonder what moves will be made in the coming week. A big roadie is coming up soon, and it's been proven that making moves before a huge trip works pretty darn well.
Question is, who goes, who stays, and who arrives?
After the jump, the NHL makes a ~humongous big secret~ announcement today, and more...
