The B's trimmed their roster to 25 today, sending Joe Colborne, Zach Hamill, Jeremy Reich, Steve Kampfer, Jeff LoVecchio, and Wyatt Smith to Providence.

The Bruins were downed by the Washington Capitals 3-2 in preseason action in DC on Tuesday night. Jeremy Reich and Brad Marchand found the back of the net for the B's, while Matt Bartkowski factored into both goals by recording helpers. B's netminder Nolan Schaefer turned aside 25 shots in the loss. The B's and Caps will run this one back in a re-match tomorrow night in Boston. The Bruins cut their training camp roster down to 33 with an pair of cuts following Saturday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Florida Panthers in an exhibition game. The B's have assigned forward Max Sauve and Yury Alexandrov to the Providence Bruins.
