The Bruins have scheduled a press conference for 2 PM ET at TD Garden to make an announcement regarding Marc Savard. GM Peter Chiarelli, Dr. Peter Asnis and Marc Savard are scheduled to speak to the media at that time. Joe Haggerty of CSNNE.com reported late yesterday afternoon that the Bruins are planning on shutting Savard down for the remainder of the season due to post-concussion symptoms. The press conference will be streamed live on BostonBruins.com and broadcast live on NESN.
The Bruins placed forward Brian McGrattan on waivers today with the intention of assigning him to the Providence Bruins. If McGrattan goes unclaimed for 48 hours, he will report to Providence. Peter Chiarelli on his decision to waive McGrattan to send him to Providence (via NESN.com): "I felt it was time for him to go down there. Frankly, it [McGrattan's toughness] was something I thought we might have needed to start the year. I'm not saying we still won't need him. I spoke with him and there's a good chance he'll be back, but it was time to put him down and get him off the cap for one thing. We'll see where it goes from there."
Matt Kalman of TheBruinsBlog.net is reporting that he spoke with Peter Chiarelli and Chiarelli is saying that Savard and Thomas will both be on the roster when the Bruins open up training camp in a few weeks.
Peter Chiarelli spoke to the media following the NHL Draft Lottery: "I will be keeping this pick. If anything we will try to move up, but it won't be going anywhere." "I think that we are the second lowest scoring team in the league, so knowing that we are going to have a shot at one of these two guys I was pretty happy." "I am going to take the bold assumption we are going to take one of those two players (Taylor Hall and Tyler Seguin)." Click on the title of this post for the full audio

Kevin Paul Dupont looks at the difficult tasks that GM Peter Chiarelli has ahead of him this off-season. I completely agree with KPD. I don't see them signing both Kessel and Krejci. I think if you had to pick one of the two to sign, it is Krejci.
I did a guest post on Cycle Like the Sedins about the Bruins and the decisions that Peter Chiarelli faces at the NHL trade deadline. Check it out.
