B's Game Notes: PIT 2 BOS 1 SO

(AP Photo/Charles Krupa)
The B's managed to put 36 shots on goal, but were only able to find the back of the net once as they fell to the Penguins in the shootout. Phil Kessel had the lone goal for the B's, his 5th of the season. Tim Thomas made 31 saves in the loss. The Bruins now sit at 2-1-2 on the season.

- It was great to see Patrice Bergeron back on The Garden ice.

- It was also great to hear the smooth vocal stylings of Rene Rancourt. Fist pumps all around.

- What about Stu? The PA announcer forgot all about Mark Stuart during pre-game introductions.

- I would have liked to see a rematch of the rather disappointing Thornton-Godard scrap.

- What is it about the Boston Bruins that gets Sidney Crosby's blood boiling?

- What a start for Phil Kessel!

- Patrice Bergeron fired 7 shots on net but couldn't seem to find the twine. Bergy is still looking for his first goal of the young season.

- Both Tim Thomas (31 saves) and Dany Sabourin (35 saves) looked strong in the net.

- Stephane Yelle (20% F%) and David Krejci (35%) struggled at the dot last night.

- The Bruins are now 0-2 in shootouts this year. Boston shooters are 1 for 8 this season in the shootout.
