Rask sent back to Providence

The Bruins have assigned goalie Tuukka Rask to Providence. Rask got his first NHL start of the season on Saturday against the New York Rangers and recorded his first career NHL shutout in the 1-0 win.

The move will make room for Manny Fernandez, who is expected to be fully healthy by Wednesday night's game in Philadelphia. Manny Fernandez skated this morning with Petteri Nokelainen, who has sat out the past three games with an undisclosed injury. Assistant coach Doug Houda and strength and conditioning coach John Whitesides worked with Fernandez and Nokelainen on the ice this morning in Wilmington, while the rest of the Bruins had the day off.
