Fluto Shinzawa of the Boston Globe is reporting that Phil Kessel had surgery today to repair a torn rotator cuff and labrum. The successful surgery was performed by Dr. J.P. Warner and Dr. Peter Asnis at Mass. General. Kessel, who will become a restricted free agent on July 1st, is expected to miss the start of the season after a recovery period that could take up to six months.
