Bruins sign Head Coach Claude Julien to a multi-year extension

Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced earlier today at a press conference held at the TD Garden that the team has signed Head Coach Claude Julien to a multi-year contract extension. Per team policy the terms of the contract were not disclosed. Julien has been behind the Bruins' bench for the past two seasons, compiling a record of 94-48-22 in the regular season and 10-8 in the postseason.

Keeping Claude around for at least a few more years is a solid move in my book. The players seems to respect the way he coaches and resond well to him. Plus, he seems to be the only one on the planet that can motivate Michael Ryder. Some argue that his prefered style of play tends to be too conservative, but then again the Bruins did score 274 goals last year, so it isn't just about playing well in their own end of the rink. Overall, this is a solid move by PC and the Boston Bruins.
