Bruins in Florida looking for 4th straight win before Olympic Break

The Bruins are in the "Colorful Lawless Swamp" known as Florida to take on the Florida Panthers tonight at 7:00. The Bruins will try for their 4th straight win before taking a 2 and a half week break for the Winter Olympics. The Bruins are facing a Panthers team whose owners have publicly declared that they are pretty much throwing in the towel on this season and plan to blow up this team in the near future.

Injury Report

Boston

Probable: Milan Lucic (food poisoning), Shawn Thornton (food poisoning)

Out: Mark Stuart (finger), Johnny Boychuk (broken orbital bone), Miroslav Satan (lacerated hand)

Florida

Out: Rostislav Olesz (hand), Nathan Horton (leg)

Notes:

- Miroslav Satan will miss the game after slicing open his hand during Thursday night's game. It was originally reported to have been cut by a skate blade, but it was later determined that it was caused by Satan's stick slamming into his palm while taking a hit from Steve Downie.

- Shawn Thornton and Milan Lucic both came down with food poisoning, but are expected to be in the lineup tonight.

- Can you imagine the backlash in this town if Jeremy Jacobs wrote a letter like the one Florida Panthers owners Cliff Viner and Stu Siegel wrote? If you are a player on the Panthers' roster right now, what motivation do you have play for these guys besides trying to showcase your game for the rest of the league?

- The same officiating crew that worked Thursday night's game against Tampa Bay will be on the ice again tonight. Dan Marouelli and Justin St. Pierre will be the referees, while Derek Amell and Andy McElman will have the lines.

- Former Bruins netminder Robb Tallas is the Panthers goaltending coach.

- The Bruins ranked last in the league in goals per game (2.36), but the Panthers have also struggled to find the back of the net (2.47, 26th in NHL).

- The Panthers own the worst power play in the NHL (15.2%), while the Bruins have the best PK in the league (86.3%).

- The Bruins cancelled their morning skate today, but the consensus seems to be that Tuukka Rask will get the start again.

- 6 Bruins will be heading to Vancouver for the Winter Olympics: Zdeno Chara and Miroslav Satan (Slovakia), David Krejci (Czech Republic), Marco Sturm (Germany), Tim Thomas (USA), and Patrice Bergeron (Canada)

- In case you haven't heard, Stanley Cup of Chowder is now selling T-shirts. Stanley Cup of Chowder logo, "Tuukka Time", and "Boston is a Hockey Town Again" designs are now available. I would like to get your input for design ideas. If you think you have a good idea for a shirt, email your design concept to stanleycupofchowder@gmail.com. If I decide to use your idea, I will send you a free shirt.

- The game starts at 7:00 and is on NESN. The Public Skate open thread starts right here at 6:30.

Today's Obligatory Embarrassing Panthers Fan YouTube Video

I think I have used this video before, but I think it sums up how corny sunbelt hockey fans are.
