Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli met with the members of the media (that did not make the trip to Ottawa) at TD Garden this afternoon to discuss a busy day at his Causeway Street office. Chiarelli was able to pull off a pair of trades today. First, Chiarelli sent winger Blake Wheeler and defenseman Mark Stuart to Atlanta in exchange for forward Rich Peverley and defenseman Boris Valabik. That move freed up cap space to land puck-moving defenseman Tomas Kaberle for the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for Joe Colborne, Boston's 2011 1st round pick, and a conditional pick in 2012.

Toronto Maple Leafs' General Manager Brian Burke also met with the media on Friday afternoon to discuss the Kaberle trade. The presser turned a bit confrontational as Burke challenged reporters and lashed out at the NHL for some of their current policies.
