Bruins and Maple Leafs face-off for final time this season

New, comments

The Bruins and Toronto Maples Leafs have already met five times this season and the Northeast Division foes will play for the sixth and final time tonight at TD Garden. The B's are 2-2-1 against the Leafs this season with Toronto winning the last two contests by a combined score of 9-5.

You have seen this Toronto team enough to know what to expect. I am not going to go through the motions of a full preview. All you need to know is the Leafs have an awkward pimply-faced kid from Wisconsin with a one dimensional game and the Bruins traded that kid for a kid that appears in awkward Dunkin' Donuts promos and sometimes watches the games from upstairs.

Notes:

- According to Sports Club Stats, the Maple Leafs have a 0.3% chance of making the playoffs, so the B's can essentially put a nail in the Maple Leafs' coffin tonight.

- Shawn Thornton is questionable for tonight's game after needing approximately 40 stitches to close a skate-inflicted wound on his forehead.

- The Bruins have been handing out an 80s style warmup jacket to the top player in each game. Who will get to wear the jacket tonight?

- Game starts at 7:00 PM ET (NESN, 98.5 FM The Sports Hub). Public Skate open thread gets going at 6:30 PM ET.

- Pension Plan Puppets is your source for Leafs information. The crew over at PPP is hoping that the Leafs can find their inner-Deltas. My advice to you is to start drinking heavily.
