Hitting the links: somewhere, Peter Chiarelli is napping

It's the day before free agent frenzy. Guys are signing with their teams left and right....speaking of rights, those are being traded all over the place. Amidst all this, the Bruins are fairly quiet. No signings ahead of the deadline, no rumors aside from Kaberle being shopped around. If this weren't a cup-winning season, you have to imagine Bruins fans would be tearing their hair out by now.

Luckily, we don't have that problem this year. Take your time, Chiarelli, take your time.

Bruins News:
  • Development Camp Roster has been announced and set. Come to Wilmington and get a dose o' Dougie. Will it be as packed and hyped as Tyler Seguin's arrival last summer? [Bruins]
  • The lady who drank an Amstel Light at Foxwoods was found. Hooray. Back to real news now, guys. [Globe]
  • The Stanley Cup is touring New England. Yesterday, via suggestions from Twitter, it stopped in Cambridge, Belmont, and Shrewsbury. [NECN]

Around the NHL:

  • Vancouver is considering implementing a regional police force in light of the recent riots. Probably a good idea in several major Canadian cities (lookin' at you, Montreal.) [Straight]
  • Eastern teams need things from free agency. Here's a good summation of what exactly those things are. [SI]
  • Jagrmania is officially running wild. The Pensblog guys, at the forefront of Jagrwatch, even called - and got through to - his agent last night while liveblogging Jaromir Jagr's supposed flight to the states. Insanity. Follow the #jagrwatch hashtag on twitter for extra laughs. [pensblog]
  • More proof of the insanity of Pens fans: this one is also an airline enthusiast. Sleuthing at its finest. [tumblr]
  • Dwayne Roloson will be back in Tampa for a year. Insert generic "Roloson is old" joke here. [TBO]
  • Steve Montador's rights traded to Chicago. Bruins fans everywhere chuckle a little in remembrance of the '09 playoffs. [Tribune]
  • Speaking of the Blackhawks, remember how a few years ago they were late getting their qualifying offers out and the NHLPA got mad? Well, it happened again, this time in Nashville. [On the Forecheck]
  • The Panthers have reunited with the San Antonio Rampage of the AHL. All 30 teams have now finalized affiliations; there are 6 new ones this year. [Miami Herald]
  • Terry Pegula has reunited the Sabres and the Amerks. If Buffalo fans haven't started worshipping him yet, odds are they will soon. Guy's doing all the right things. [MLive]

Non-hockey link of the day:

  • Banana bread is tasty. Beer is tasty. But what about.....banana bread beer???!? [Beer Advocate]
