Bruins vs. Blue Jackets game Fancystats: ExtraSkater

The GOOD: The penalty kill improved over the course of the game. Jarome Iginla powered through his broken stick to facilitate the momentum-turning Chris Kelly goal. Loui Eriksson drove the net and SCORED, Reilly Smith had the assist. Jordan Caron maintained his composure to draw a penalty. Matt Bartkowski was solid, Torey Krug nearly scored. Maybe this is bad, but Daniel Paille yet again broke away on the penalty kill and nearly scored! The third line... that is all. A Milan Lucic empty net goal was the icing on the cake. Tuukka Rask was SOLID. Patrice Bergeron and Gregory Campbell dominated the faceoff circle, both at 67%.

The BAD: A slow start (Columbus scored first) and then penalties by Dennis Seidenberg and Patrice Bergeron, as much as it pains me to say it. Brad Marchand was demoted to skate with the third line.

The INTERESTING: Claude Julien celebrated his 700th game today. Happy Birthday to Adam McQuaid and Carl Soderberg!

The NOTABLE MOMENTS: Shawn Thornton vs. Jared Boll, as anticipated. Loui Eriksson scored his first goal as a Bruin, assisted by Reilly Smith.
