Jokinen clears, as that $64.3M cap for next season has teams spooked. Daugavins to BOS

Roots go deep in the NHL. Bruins GM Chiarelli was with the #Sens organization in '06 when Daugavins was drafted.

So that's interesting. Daugavins has one goal and two assists through 17 games so far this year. Aside from that odd shootout move against Boston earlier this year, he hasn't been too impressive in Ottawa's system. Daugavins has played 85 career NHL games, and spent the lockout playing for Latvia's KHL team, Dinamo Riga. He was part of the 2010-2011 Calder Cup Champion Binghamton Senators.
If nothing else, Daugavins could potentially be sent back through waivers to Providence to help them on their Calder Cup run this year? Maybe? Or maybe a different system will boost his scoring totals, as the Bruins' system has done for several forwards before him. Who knows. Either way, it's a very strange move.
