Boston Bruins recall Matt Bartkowski from Providence as Baby Bruins kick off Round 2 of Calder Cup Playoffs tonight

Defenseman Matt Bartkowski was recalled by the Boston Bruins Thursday, presumably to replace the injured Wade Redden.

Boston Bruins defenseman Wade Redden, one of the heroes from Game 1, will be out of the lineup tonight and is listed as day-to-day. In his place will be defenseman Matt Bartkowski who has been one of Providence's top defenseman during the first round of the AHL Calder Cup Playoffs. Bartkowski, the former Ohio State star, was recalled by Boston yesterday.

Providence opens up its second round series in the Calder Cup Playoffs tonight by hosting the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Boston looks to eliminate the Toronto Maple Leaf in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals at the TD Garden tonight.
