Preview:
I had a whole thing written out that was very negative and then I decided I'm tired of being negative so here's this:
This is not the 2010 team. This is not the 2011 team. Hell, this isn't even the 2012 team. Yeah, there's a pattern of being unable to close out the series in five or six games; yeah, this is a tough Maple Leafs team to play against. But if the Bruins team from games three and four can show up tonight -- everything will be okay, and we'll be headed for a vengeance matchup against the Capitals or an Original Six showdown with the Rangers.
And I'm 100% ready for that.
The Bruins lineup will likely remain the same, which we've all harped upon plenty. The Leafs....who knows. They seem to find what's working and keep tweaking it, which is not really a skill the Bruins have. If Thornton sits for Daugman or Soderberg tonight that'd be great, but who foresees that happening?
Eight and a half more hours until the puck drops on a contest that will determine if this crappy short season ends or shifts south. Let's do this.
