New Bruins Hero Torey Krug opened it up today with a goal at 5:28 of the first period. Who's got more goals in the playoffs than noted superstar Rick Nash? Krug does. Awesome. The Rangers answered, but the Bruins pulled ahead yet again early in the second when Gregory Campbell put one in, assisted by Krug and Adam McQuaid. Krug: playing his way into the NHL since 5/17/13.
Rick Nash got his second of the playoffs less than a minute after Campbell's goal -- but at 12:08 of the third, Johnny Boychuk's bomb made it 3-2. A fun note on that goal - with Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron on the assists, that was an entirely Providence Bruins home grown goal. Awesome.
The Rangers wouldn't score again, but the Bruins weren't done, oh hell no. Milan Lucic and Brad Marchand added onto the goal pile -- and with their goals in the third, the Bruins officially scored more goals on Lundqvist than they ever had before (their high was three, ever.)
WOW.
It was also the first time Lundqvist had allowed more than four goals in 151 games. Amazing.
Extra pluses:
+ Krug probably isn't going back to Providence. Sorry, Providence. But -- could he be the future PMD this team has been looking for all this time?
+ Rask looked pretty great today. The Rangers did have a few very good, solid chances -- and put 37 shots on goal.
+ Tortorella yelling at the refs was pretty great imo
+ Dan Girardi was on the ice for every Bruins goal, haha.
+ Gregory Campbell fought Derek Dorsett in the third period for no reason at all. Never really had an opinion on Dorsett but I'm liking him less and less as this series goes on.
