Last night, the United States Men's National Soccer Team (#USMNT) played Mexico in the heartland of America. The final score, a familiar "Dos A Cero" (2-0, the same result as the last few games against our biggest rivals in CONCACAF), put the USMNT into a good spot for contention in the World Cup.
When the game ended, all that remained for qualification was for Homduras, up 1-0 at the half, to beat or tie Panama. Panama tied it up early in the second half, but Honduras went back ahead at the 60'. Honduras held off Panama until a last-minute free kick tied them again. But the tie held, and America is headed to the 2014 World Cup!
