Game Notes:

  • Last season Boston won two of three meetings with Washington.
  • During practice this morning, Chara took Lucic's stick to the face. Big Z stayed on the ice for duration of practice though, and will still play tonight. Krejci and Campbell are still out. Per usual, we can expect a lot out of Krug-Miller and Dougie Hamilton.
  • The Capitals fell to the Habs in their season opener, but they showcased strong penalty killing (all five of Habs power plays were thwarted) and great defensive chemistry. Caps defense is already far more threatening than last year.
  • For the sixth time in NHL history, all 30 teams are playing today. It finally smells like hockey season.
