Well this was a stinker.

The Bruins came out strong in the first period, maintaining significant zone time and getting a lot of decent shot attempts. Seth Griffith looked good paired with David Krejci; the Kelly and the Swedes line looked strong, and somehow Daniel Paille with Ryan Spooner and Jordan Caron had a few of the team's best chances.

But the Avalanche got on the board first in the second period, with this Jamie McGinn goal, a pretty soft one allowed by Niklas Svedberg:

Loui Eriksson scored on the power play to tie it up, and that was it for the Bruins' scoring this game - for the first time since early in the game against Detroit last week. Great look by Carl Soderberg on this one.

The Bruins initially got very lucky in that the Avalanche's first go-ahead goal was waved off and ruled a high stick:

But the Avalanche had the momentum, Matt Bartkowski made a coverage error, and with 0.4 seconds left in the game, Danny fucking Briere scored to win the game for Colorado.

Crap.

Bonus: Here's Daniel Paille doing Daniel Paille things.
