In their words: Avalanche 2, Bruins 1

Here's what the people involved had to say about yesterday's last-second win by Colorado.

Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

Matt Bartkowski, on the game-ending play.

"I just didn’t see the guy behind me so I got too high and they got a shot through and what happens, happens...I should’ve been lower there, you saw it."

Dennis Seidenberg, on the game-ending goal.

"Everybody has their task and their position and be with their guy. It was just a scrambley play and blown coverage and they scored."

Daniel Briere, on whether or not he knew his goal would count.

"I had no clue.  I saw the referees, nobody knew what was going on and that’s when I had that sinking feeling that it might not be good but it’s a big relief just to get a win under our belt."

Jarome Iginla's thoughts on his former team.

"Oh I think it’s early. I think everything is so magnified at the beginning of the season. I do follow, looking at the scores at night. I’ve got a lot of friends over on the other side, so I follow how they’re doing and stuff, and they’re close games."

Seth Griffith, on his first NHL game.

"It’s a little different from the preseason, it’s a little faster, guys are a little stronger so it’s something I got to adjust to and I think I got better as the game went on."

David Krejci, on his first game back.

"I felt pretty good. Honestly there were some shifts where I stayed on the ice a little too long and it was hard to catch a breath after that. Overall I feel pretty good."

Brad Marchand's thoughts on the loss.

"You want to stay positive. I thought again that we played a decent game and there [are] a lot of good things we can take out of it but, again, at the end of the day we need the points, we need the wins and so we do have to take the good things away from the game."

Claude Julien, on the effect of the loss on the team.

"At the end of the day those are things that make your team a stronger team and a better team down the road. When you have adversity, a lot of teams will tell you at the end of the year, that it probably made them a better hockey club."

Julien's thoughts on Krejci's performance.

"He was good for his first game in. You could see him forcing things at times, but he got better as the game went on and it was good to have him back in our lineup."

Loui Eriksson's thoughts on his line.

"I think we are playing pretty good together our line and just working hard at it...having a good forecheck and creating [sic] them to turn the puck over and that’s how we been getting chances the last couple games."
