Game Notes:

  • THE BRUINS TRADED JOHNNY BOYCHUK
  • They also waived Jordan Caron and Craig Cunningham, as well as David Warsofsky. Breen, Florek, Griffith, Koko, Subban, and Trotman were all sent to Providence. Tonight's lineup will look a bit closer to the regular season lineup, likely.
  • Reilly Smith and Torey Krug had their preseason premiers last night in a 6-1 victory vs the Islanders. Smith scored Boston's sixth goal, powering through multiple Islanders to put it in the net. Both proved ready for the season and full of the energy we needed.
  • Detroit goalie Jonas Gustavsson and Detroit defense did not play well in a loss against the Maple Leafs last night. Boston is coming off of a fast-paced victory. We have the momentum.
  • Last night Ryan Spooner proved he wants a spot on the roster with two goals and speed. That young speed and urgency is what the Bruins need tonight to pull off another win against the Red Wings in this last preseason game.

NEVER FORGET:

"My Heart Will Go On" should be playing in the background of these highlights. Hanging on to these memories.
