Game Notes:

  • HOCKEY. IS. BACK.
  • The Bruins beat the Flyers in all three encounters last season. With the loss of Scott Hartnell and Kimmo Timonen, the Flyers have miraculously managed to get worse.
  • David Krejci is currently on IR due to a "very, very minor" injury. Chiarelli did say the roster is subject to change.
  • Young Boston talent acquired this season has to fuse with veteran consistency early on. A season opener at the Garden against weak Flyers defense will give Boston a chance to strengthen team dynamic.
  • Philly defense this preseason was "awful". Timonen, arguably their best defenseman is out indefinitely with blood clots.
  • Sure, Claude Giroux is in his prime, but one man can only do so much. Flyers have some depth at forward but it's overshadowed by the fact that some have to play out of position (Vincent Lecavalier at left wing?).
